None of us are 'accidents'. Even before the universe was created God had us in mind and planned us for his purposes. Activate aims to help us understand that each one of us is uniquely designed and gifted by God to do the "good works" that he has planned in advance for us to do. The course sets out the principle of serving God in every area of life; activating the gifts we have been given. Activate helps us identify/affirm our spiritual gifts and gives us a greater understanding of the way God has uniquely created us to serve him.

The 5 week course is interactive and requires some work to be completed at home.

Week 1 - Why am I here?
We have a purpose. We need to discover who God has made us to be. We are shaped to serve God. This week looks at understanding our hearts desire & gives an introduction to Spiritual Gifts.
Week 2 - What are Spiritual Gifts?
The purpose of this evening is to understand what a Spiritual gift is and to realise their importance; to understand the concept of interdependence in the body of Christ and to list the gifts from Scripture.
Week 3 - How do I use my Spiritual Gifts?
In this session we will identify the characteristics of each gift and how it contributes to the work of God. We will also see examples of how members of Glenabbey are using their gifts in different contexts. We will also look at the meaning of servanthood.
Week 4 - Who am I?
This evening will provide an opportunity for us to understand who we are in terms of temperament, skills, availability and spiritual maturity.
Week 5 - Where do I fit?
How what we have learned about ourselves should impact on our daily lives. We will also discuss the next steps - how to get involved in Glenabbey and to most effectively serve God where He has placed us.
