Breaking the large group of young people up into three smaller groups gives them a forum in which to chat openly, be taught directly and to relate intentionally so that they can be built up in their faith. Icons run every Tuesday from 7:30pm – 9:30pm during term times.
These three Icons are in 19 Fairview Farm Way Ballyclare, 29 Highgrove Drive Ballyclare and 22 Cherryburn Road Templepatick. For more details on these locations, click the contact&location button and then the Icons tab.

Switch Music Video
Music. Energy. Laughter. Relationship. Life. Every Friday night from 8:30pm – 10:30pm we demonstrate a new direction for the lives of the young people.
Bible Class
It is important to us that the young people understand what the Bible means and how to put it into practice. Bible Class gives an age appropriate teaching for those in Years 8 and 9 during the teaching times of the main Sunday services.
Drama
Glenabbey provides its own Oscar award winning programme to help any young person (Years 8-12) get involved in drama. People have different skills which we try and help them develop. Teenage Drama workshops happen on Thursday nights, 6.30-8.00pm at Glenabbey and the team perform various sketches across different ministries.
Football
Glenabbey Football Video
So much of our population are passionate about football and love playing the game whenever they can. We provide the opportunity for anybody, either people attending any of our other programmes or not, to come down and enjoy a game of football.
On Thursday nights we hire the 3G pitch at The Soccer Shed, Ballyclare from 6-7 pm to allow these young people to increase their skills and have fun with their friends. Football costs £3 per person who attends, to cover the cost of the pitches.
Easter / Summer Activities
Camp 2012 Promo
Junior Camp
Most of the young people cannot wait until the end of July to have the time of their lives at Junior Camp. So much happens...lots of fun, plenty of activities and no sleep!
Wonder
To get the young people out of your hair over Easter, we’ll take them off your hands! Wonder runs from 10-13 April from 10am – 4pm and is for those who attend Icon or Glenabbey. We’ll spend the week focusing on a section of the Bible and looking to see the young people get closer to God, but also serve God in project teams that will also be a part of Wonder.
Thirst
I-phones, broadband, google, sky + television programmes; young people have so much information at their fingertips, that they can get what they want so quickly. What we want is for them to desire God; to have a thirst for God. This week (20-24 August) will look at increasing, or just developing, their thirst for God.
The young people come all day, all week (10am-8:30pm, Monday to Friday) and have a wide mix of events. Activities, project teams, evening programmes and even their meals included! This week has been so important to the young people over the years, and this year’s should be no different.
Football Camp
Our very own pre-season time comes on August 7-11 (Tuesday to Saturday), where 6-14 year olds can come to Mallusk Playing Fields and enjoy fun coaching, skills training and a World Cup competition. We also have lunch time small groups that look at football themed Bible studies.
Safeguarding
The safety of children and vulnerable adults who access our programmes matters to us, and the safeguarding team, which is led by Stewart Whyte, oversees and reviews our safeguarding policy, Better Safe than Sorry, as well as arranging vetting and training for all those who serve in children’s, youth and pastoral ministries.
