New Teaching Series - Talking With God - Starts January 8th 2012 Date Added:
15 DECEMBER 2011

This January sees the start of a new teaching series called, 'Talking with God'

Almost every Christian when asked about prayer has admitted to struggling with it. We know the Bible says we should pray. We (say we) believe God answers prayer. But we struggle with it. Perhaps one reason we struggle is an (unspoken) expectation on our part  that we shouldn’t struggle – that prayer should come naturally and easily to us. So then we conclude that there must be something wrong with us. Well, of course there are many things wrong  with us! But struggling with prayer is to be expected for we are engaged in a spiritual battle in which prayer plays a major role.

Details of individual talks and speakers for the new series:
  • Jan 8th.   Talk 1. "Why bother with prayer?" - Gilbert Lennox
  • Jan 15th. Talk 2. "Listening to God" - Alan Wilson
  • Jan 22nd Talk 3 "With Jesus in the school of prayer" - Steve Timmis

Sunday Morning series Date Added:
30 SEPTEMBER 2011

in light of this ... GOSPEL

God has called us into a life in partnership with his Son.  So says Paul in the opening lines of the letter we call 1st Corinthians.  What a staggeringly amazing statement! What does it mean?  What does it look like as we live in our very real physical bodies to be a forgiven human being, living in partnership with Jesus the Son of God?  What does it look like in work, in family, in our relationships, in our sexuality? What, in other words, does it mean to be truly Christian?

In this new teaching series from 1st Corinthians we will follow along with Paul as he writes to a church that was both very gifted and very messed up as he deals with issue after issue and brings them back constantly to the basic principles of the Gospel itself, showing them what true Christianity looks like.
